Home Forums Fishing Saltwater Any suggestion for my fishfinder?

I am currently looking at the Lowrance Hook 7 Sonar X Mid/High/Downscan and also the Lowrance Hook2 7 Series Sonar X GPS SplitShot HDI but I am not sure which version I need since I already have a transducer and cable connection on the trolling motor from the previous boat owner. I also found the RAM mounts they look nice but which version is better recommended?

How deep of water are you going to be fishing? I have a Lowrance elite 7TI and it works really well. I swapped out the transducer for a 50/200, Low/High CHIRP because we often fish in pretty deep water. It also has downscan which is pretty cool but I honestly don't use that feature that much.

Do you know what the previous owner had for a sounder? I made the mistake of buying the wrong transducer the first time, now I have a $200+ transducer with nothing to use it on. Oops.

Fishing in that 8-15 foot range. Do you have any suggestions? I don't know what the previous owner had for a sounder. But I had a bit of installation experience from a friend, so I think it will be fine.
