If some of you recall, I posted some velocity and pressure tests using a NEF 12 gauge shotgun (26 barrel) outfitted with a strain gage for the Oehler M43 PBL. This, too, might be of some interest.

Remington factory Premier STS Light Handicap (3 Dr. Eq., 1-1/8 ounces #8 shot, nominal 1200 fps). Velocity average 1158 fps @ 10,100 psi. Velocity standard deviation = 16 fps. Pressure standard deviation = 400 psi.

Winchester factory AA Heavy Target Load (3 Dr. Eq., 1-1/8 ounces #7-1/2 shot, nominal 1200 fps). Velocity average 1189 fps @ 9,500 psi. Velocity standard deviation = 16 fps. Pressure standard deviation = 500 psi.

I also did some chronographing with different shotguns. This is for the factory Remington loads.

Browning Sporting Clays Edition, 28 ported barrel, full choke tube, 1179 fps.
Browning M525, 28 barrel, full choke tube, 1199 fps
Remington M11-87, 26 target barrel (2-3/4 chamber), trap full choke tube, 1136 fps.
Remington M11-87, 30 target barrel (2-3/4 chamber), trap full choke tube, 1161 fps.

The Winchester AA factory loads produced:

Browning Sporting Clays Edition, 1213 fps.
Browning M525, 1225 fps.
Remington 11-87 (26 barrel), 1170 fps.
Remington 11-87 (30 barrel), 1209 fps.

Although the Winchester AA ammunition was recently purchased, it was the old-style, one-piece AA hull. To keep things as consistent as possible, I use the same choke tube in each of the Brownings. I also used the same choke tube in both of the Remingtons.
