Other than the laminated stocks what else do I need to convert a standard 336w to a GBL?
This is a 30-30 BTW
Thanks

A forend cap, tenon, tennon screws...

If you have a nice fitting “W”, that birch wears better than walnut. Just use it for what she is.

This is basically what I have but with a matte finish. Pressed or stamped checkering and plastic barrel bands

Those bands are steel and the Birch is great, put your money towards optics or sell it and buy the BL

Oh, and don’t forget this stuff:

http://www.winchester.com/products/rifle-ammunition/Advanced/Power-Max-Bonded/Pages/X30306BP.aspx

Use that ammo, a decent scope, talley mounts, and a swivel sewn in nylon mountain sling and you can take anything in North America, year after year.

The most satisfying scope I’ve ever used on my Marlins is the Leupold 2-7 Ultralight or a FXII 4x

I still think the 20" barrel handles best on a 30-30. Currently I only have a 16" though.
