Anyone make lightweight synthetic stocks (Edge like) for Marlin lever guns? Smith to make it a 3/4 magazine?

Only a plastic stock for the 336 with pistol grip and barrel band that I know of.

If you have the fat forearm you could probably remove some material there. And then drill a couple of holes under the buttplate.

Yeah, a 44 Mag is right in the “zone” with 16-18” barrel. Your project could be a lot of money to spend on an already light rifle.

The Browning B-92 is a lightweight 44 Magnum carbine. Accurate and classy, if you can find one.

I had a smith install an octagon barrel on a model 39 - the old barrel was shot, The new barrel was shorter and he cut back the magazine. If you look at the rifle, you'd never know it wasn't factory unless you were a Marlin expert - also the barrel looks newer than the rest of the rifle. It isn't a collector except I won't sell it anyhow. My oldest son will probably get it when I kick the bucket.

I prefer classic.

I showed this before but chopped one of my 1894SS rifles to a 16" Trapper with laminate stocks. The new configuration is right at 6 lbs so is a half pound less than the stock gun without the scope.

I thought laminate was heavier than wood.

I think you are correct kinda. Depends on what kind of wood I'd say.
Also, I believe stainless is a touch heavier than carbon steel, although I could be wrong.
