i bought a Marlin 30-30 that had the safety removed. i need to put something to cover holes.

the little Marlin here has the safety replaced with a saddle ring. forget where I got it though.

I prefer the safeties. If it were me, I'd just get a new safety and install it.

I have nine Marlin lever guns. Only two have safeties ( because that is the only way they were ever made in those configurations). It only takes one click rather than a bang to train the shooter. It has never happened again, I was not accustomed to it. Believe me, the game can easily hear that click at 100+ yards.

the only reason I see a purpose for the X/bolt safety on the Marlin

to empty the magazine when done hunting/shooting if required by law

here in Utah.....loaded magazines are OK even in vehicle

seems Beartooth has deletes in stock
