Does anyone know who makes/sells an aftermarket triggerguard for a 700 ADL? Must be high polished, blued steel. No matte finish and no aluminum of course; that's what I want to replace. Nothing at Midway or Brownells. Thanks, Ed

I think you would need to get a blued/matte one from Brownells, and then hand polish it to the grit you want and have it blued. High polished parts are pretty much a thing of the past.

BAT machine sells some pretty nice ADL guards. I agree you might have to polish it yourself.

ironbender, You find me exactly what I described above and it's yours for free; polished (not matte) carbon steel (not aluminum). I've checked all the resources listed above in addition to Brownells and Midway and I think folks are not really researching this, but just tossing out "possible" places to go look. Good luck bro. Ed

Good luck just the same.

OEM Remington STEEL ADL trigger guards installed on early 700's & 40X's are coated/painted gloss black.
Purchase a STEEL ADL trigger guard from a manufacturer. Polish the ADL trigger guard to your hearts content. Send the POLISHED ADL trigger guard to Glen Rock to have it polished again & have it hot blued. Done.

I bought the steel ones from Brownells. They were powder coated or painted. The cast steel part had corrosion UNDER the paint and it started flaking off immediately. Since this wasn't a walnut stocked pretty rifle I ordered a red anodized one from PT&G and installed it. I am pretty confident that the anodized one won't rust- I know this doesn't help your problem but the cast steel ones from Brownells are pretty $chitty and I wouldn't start with one.

It is rather easy buying a STEEL trigger guard from PT&G, polishing it yourself and hot bluing it. The dozen or so I have bought were just as easy to polish as were the several dozen stainless one piece bottom pieces I buy in short and long action. No manufacturer I know of sell trigger guards blued, painted yes.
Cheers.
