I seen a good bit of it at the local F&S here in Lafayette, La and they also had the 280 rem and so did Academy next door.

I will rephrase. What is 7mm express ammo still in original box worth?

I’ll make you a good deal on it Bugger!

The 280/7mm Express is one of my favorite cartridges. I have one marked 7mm Express and one that has been modified that has a premium after market barrel, The third one I bought 20 years ago or so after I gave my first one away as a gift to a friend.

The 280 is a great all around cartridge.

The 7mm Express marked BDL is not only a great cartridge, but will increase in value due to it's rarity.

I prefer classic.

From what I recall,in the late 70's,Remington tried to revive the 280 calling it the 7mm Express. The 280 was doomed as a factory cartridge because it was loaded at low pressures because it was chambered in auto and pump rifles. As good as the 280 is,it's sales could not compete with the 270 Win. that was loaded at very high pressures from it's start. So Remington came out with some model 700's marked as 7mm Express. They also produced some + P ammo that was loaded a little hotter than the standard 280 loads. It kinda the same thing with a lot of rounds that were originally old military rounds. The factories won't load the ammo too hot for fear somebody with shoot it in the old rifles.Modern bolt action rifles are capable of handling higher pressure ammo,so handloaders can squeeze a bit more velocity over some of the the factory stuff that is held at the lower pressures.

I would not trade it in, they wont give you as much if you sell it out right.

Doesn’t seem to be selling as I thought it would.
