I like many here bought one of the Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creed, except this rifle was to be my son's first "His" deer rifle. I had the rifle hidden in my gun room for a two weeks waiting for the right moment to present him the rifle. A week ago Saturday Kyle struck up a conversation with me he had been watching "Youtube" on the 6.5 Creedmore and felt the 6.5 creed was the perfect caliber for him especially in a Tikka. My surprise moment for him has arrived to give him the rifle and yes he was overly surprised

We got the new Tikka scoped and spent yesterday, Fathers Day breaking the barrel in. My son did all the shooting. Fourteen rounds of Hornady factory American Whitetail 129 gr interlock shot into 1.07 inches as my Son was shooting one shot and then cleaning the barrel.

Who knew these Tikka rifles were this good???

It's an amazing rifle. I have owned Tikka rifles for a long time and have never been disappointed in the performance. Smooth bolt throw and good trigger are 2 things that matter to me. Currently owning 7 or 8 of them, I guess you could call me a fan.

Mine was shooting 1/2" with Hornady Precision Hunter 143 gr ELD-X. I've bought some dies and Barnes ELD bullets to work up some handloads.

Have you lightened the trigger on yours yet? Very simple to do and a very crisp trigger.

I think the 143 ELDX is THE load for the 6.5CM. My factory loads have been so good, I have yet to begin reloading for it.

Not a lefty...but can confirm that my Tikka 6.5 loves all factory ammo...and shoots the cheap stuff even better. Hornady American Hunter 140 shoot the best.

I would love to have one of those, but I have a hard time justifying another rifle with two safes already full! I have become a real 6.5 fan. Both my .260 and Creed are unbelievably good deer rifles and shoot everything that I feed them. My favorites are the 147 ELDM and the 129 Hornady Interlock. Both smuck deer with authority.

My son had his lefty 6.5 Creed to the range this evening testing Reloader 26 and Hornady's 143 gr ELD-X. It's hot as hell here this week so shooting was limited to 3 shot groups.......45.5 gr of Rel-26 grouped into .430. My son loaded up to 46.8 grs of Reloader which showed just a very faint ejector mark on the Hornady brass...bolt lift was fine ( HE Said)

I just picked up a new Tikka T3X left handed 6.5 Creedmore. I'm not sure what scope to put on it, I'm looking for suggestions and seeing what scope everyone else has on their 6.5.

Sika,

You have some long cornfields to shoot across on Marylands eastern shore and Sika deer is a small target. A scope with a top end of 10X or 12X should suit you fine. Since you don't hand load "YET" you may not be playing the long range thing out to 500 to 700 yards any time soon which would require more magnification and dials on the tube.

Think I'm going to go with a Leupold VX3I in either a 4.5-14x50 or a 6.5-20x50....Leaning towards the 4.5-14 right now bit may change my mind if I see something I like better.
What do you or others have on their 6.5 cm?

I re-purposed a 3x9 Bushnell 4200. 9X is plenty plenty for a big game rifle.

x2

XTR Sigs on a 20MOA rail. The setup has been rock solid for me on a few rifles.

I smacked 2 sows across a pasture this weekend. It's an exceptionally accurate rifle with a great trigger. I have a Zeiss HD5 2- 10 x 42 on mine.

Where did you purchase at? I am having trouble finding a left hand bolt action in AL....even called Whittaker's.....my son turn's 12 this month and is a lefty and left eye dominant. Wanted an X-bolt, but Tikka was second on the list......Have a Leupy VX3i waiting for it.....would appreciate any help.

Yep - 9 to 10 power is sufficient any range you may need.
