I've noticed the No. 1 was made in .416 Ruger, Remington, and Rigby. And photos I've seen on gunbroker show some with the Alexander Henry fore-end and some with a different fore-end the name of which I don't know.

My questions. In what sub-models were the .416 No.1 made? And what sub-models had the Alexander Henry and what not?

In particular, was the .416 Remington made without the Alexander Henry fore-end or is that all there is?

The Rigby and Remington were the 1-H. Assuming the Ruger was the 1-h as well but could have been the 1-S. Both have Henry forends. Supposed someone could have swapped out forends.

Thanks KenMi, so you are saying all .416 No. 1s produced by Ruger came with the Alexander Henry fore-end?

How do the 1-H and the 1-S relate to the "Tropical"? Is the Tropical just the name Ruger assigned to certain calibers or is it a different sub-model?

Sure like the .416's. Tropicals are 1-H with a heavy barrels. 1-S have medium contour barrels.

I found a Wiki on the No.1 but it hasn't been updated since 2006 so there is no mention at all of the .416 Ruger. It seems to be saying that up through 2006, at least, the .416 Remington and .416 Rigby had the AH fore-end except for the stainless version of the Rigby. The 1-S was not produced in .416.
