HATE possum's! Ugly, hissing fuggers. Haven't seen any for a bit. Good! Now, it seems I'm dealing with feral cats. Got the mom and kittens corrected. One more got in my garage. He did not like a pellet gun at all. Or all the black pepper where I believe those friggin' cats got in at. It's what alerted me to the last cat. Bastid was sneezing a fit.

My worse are coons, possums, and squirrels. Coons will destroy sweet corn and eat chickens. Possums eat my dog food and will eat a chicken. Squirrels get into the barns, and have been known to chew the wiring, plus they will eat up a corn patch. I also have to shoot rabbits that get in the garden. Deer will eat up a garden if they get brave enough to get close to the house. I've also lost chickens to coyotes, bobcats, and hawks. Groundhogs dig in the barns, and will also eat beans and corn.

Come to think of it, just about everything around here is a pain in the azz. I probably despise coons and possums more than anything else, and keep out traps and will kill them on sight.

I could go on, but everyone sorta gets the idea.

sadly it isn't legal to shoot any of them, when we need to get rid of all of them.

The coyote, thieving, cowardice POS, I shoot everyone I can get a set of sights or a glass on, they remind me of inner city thug criminals with their behavior.

Worst for lots of people, but for me the best shoot that I ever had was in Hoy's dump on the outskirts of Milwaukee. The back story goes back to my freshman year in college when I was eating dinner in the cafeteria and my older hunting buddy came up and asked what I was doing that night? No class tomorrow so nothing I said, what did you have in mind? Do you have a .22 he asked? Yeah, but it is home a hundred miles away. No problem he says, lets go shoot some rats. Wells, his wife and I drive to get my 10/22 with the Leupold 2 3/4 Vari-X with a post reticle and we headed for Milwaukee to Hoy's dump, a huge sprawling garbage dump with dirt roads all through it. Wells and I sat on the hood of the car while his wife drove slowly around the dump roads shining the rats with the headlights. I think between us that we went through about a brick of .22's and we both shot those 10/22's hot. I'm not sure how Wells knew that old guy who had the dump, but I think that he could have sold tickets to do what we did for lots of that night. It made a heck of a memory.

My other auto is a .45

Coons are the worst , I have 8 of them as of this morning. Coyotes, fox, skunks possums, hawks dont bother my chickens. What does bother my chickens is the dam dogs people let out and they kill my chickens or beat them up real bad. I had a rat or some rats . It was easy getting rid of them. I could not trap them at all. I waited till a week of real cold winter nights came around. When it got down to -15 for a week, I took away the food in the chicken coop. Never saw a sign of a rat again.

I've had to whack five coons in the last two weeks this year. CCI Segmented Subsonics seem to work just dandy, even better than the .22 Short HPs I used last year on nearly 20 coons. This, living in town, means I've still got too damned many coons hanging around here.
