Family has a vacation house near our family farm on the Chattooga River (SC/GA line). I have taken a fair amount of pics of my favorite spots over the years but a while back I experimented with a longer exposure at "almost dark". Standard procedure....tripod, a relatively tight f-stop for focus, experiment with the length of exposure to grab as much light as I could without screwing up things. Think they turned out ok. Liked the way ambient light and shadows played on the leaves in the second pic, making it appear like it was daytime. If I remember correctly, that second pic was a long long exposure.

Beautiful pics.....I like the slow shutter on that cascading water......looks SO peaceful.

I like the first scene with the large rocks in the foreground. Maybe bump up the brightness a smidge.

Oh I’ve got plenty of daytime pics of that scenery....I thought the relative darkness of the pic was unusual...kinda unique. Ironbender, the pics were taken after our supper, so it was getting dark when I was setting up the tripod, etc for both pics.

Same spot, few hundred yards downstream. Early morning. Second image got a little washed out because of the high dynamic range...I don't know how to splice two or three HDR pics together yet as you can see.
