Hello,
In my list of projects is a model 70 currently in .300 win mag with blind magazine. I am looking to swap out for a different stock and am wondering if anyone has input on converting it to a one piece floor plate vs. 2 piece? Better stock options? Will be using this rifle for larger game such as moose or elk.

Either work just fine.. If the stock's inletted for the 2-pc now I'd leave it.. FWIW.

I had a couple of older Classics that came with the steel 2 piece bottom metal. I ran across used McMillan stocks for them that took 1 piece bottom metal. I bought this and saved 1/4 lb on rifle weight. I had to either buy new bottom metal or modify the stock anyway. It was worth it to me.

FWW I found a lot more stock options that took 1 piece bottom metal.

I have both and prefer the one piece units. On my mcmillan stocks I specify they be inletted for the PT&G aluminum one piece bottom metal. The aluminum works just as well as steel, looks just as good, and saves about 6 ounces.

I don't do blind magazines, can't stand them. I know lots on here like them but I want access to the action from the bottom.
