I got a good deal on an unfired 2016 Sendero SF II in 7mm Rem Mag. I put Talley lightweight lows on her, and a Leupold VX2 4-12x40 CDS.

Lightweight she ain’t, but I’m betting she shoots.

I had the same exact gun...Mine shot lights out with factory Winchester 140 grain Ballistic Silvertips. Brought it to Wyoming and shot my 1st Antelope @ 432 yards.

Always loved the Senderos. Wanted one in 25-06 for a long time, but other things kept coming up. I bet it shoots as good as it looks...

I’m hoping you got a good one. I have the very same rifle in .264 Win Mag that had to be sent back to Remington for a major overhaul. Mine shoots really good now but it still has head space issues.
If your serial number starts with RR you have a 50/50 chance. My rifles serial number begins with RR and it was a stinker. I have a replacement trigger in mine now and that makes it shoot way better than it did with the horrible Remington trigger.

Nice - there's a retired dentist at my shooting club who shoots bug holes with his at 500 yards.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not making this up...he uses a Leupold scope to boot. shocked

Mine is an older Sendero in 300 ultramag...It’s been a sub moa rifle from the start. I swapped out the trigger first thing. Yesterday, I ordered a McM Remington Hunter stock to replace the H-S furniture. The fat dual palm swell never felt right. The new stock corrects it for me...Best of luck...Hope your’s shoots great 😎

50/50, why?

Did Remington only make 2 that year?

I bought two of these new last summer, a .264 and a 7mm Rem. Magnum. The 7mm is very accurate but I gave up on the .264 after trying at least six bullets and several powders.

The one gun I wish I would hadn’t sold was a Sendero in 7mm STW. I put a Timney Trigger in there and it shot factory Nosler 160 AB incredibly well. Have fun with your 7!

Most all Sendero's I've seen are really good shooters. A lot of weight out front, but its not like these are shot in off hand, field positions.

Were these ever offered in 308?

Pharmseller Google “Remington Sendero trouble”....
Like I said I hope you got a good one. As far as how many Sendero rifles were built you will need to contact Remington but I’m sure it was more than two.

no, but a 700P or a 5r in .308 has the same stock and barrel contour. unless youre just dying to have a fluted barrel.

Yep, if it was short action like 308, 22-250, etc...I was a considered a VSSF.

I did.

Then I Googled “Tikka trouble.” That search returned a lot of hits, too.

Very nice rifle, my son in law has one just like it. I have two and a 300 Win mag with a 5R Barrel. It’s about the same thing. The others are a 26 Nosler(was a 7 mag) with a Rock Creek Barrel. The other is s 7mm ultra mag. It has a Leupold scope now. These are all great shooters. I’ve had at least 20 Rem 700’s, they have all shot well.

Excellent, try 180 Berger 's. Vlds or hybrids 64.6. H-4831. Nosler brass or Norma. 210 m primer, That's right 210m. Not mags 26" barrel. .002 off lands, thank me later 😂 4 antelope 420-670 yards two Barbary rams 1-528. 1-565, 1 Elk. 697. All one shot kills. Except Barbary. Bad wind , bad call

Thanks for the data. I have experience with 180 Bergers out of a 7mm Rem Mag on a bull, I wasn’t impressed. I got better results from a 162 ELDX.

I took the Sendero and one of my Tikkas to the range yesterday.

I’m an idiot. I just want to get that out there at the beginning so we’re all on the same page.

I brought along three different loads, all handloads from my Tikka, just to see what the Sendero liked. Anyone see the problem yet? I sure didn’t.

I put up a target at 50 for the eyeball method of boresighting, and two more at 100. Eyeball, boresight, everything looks good. I put three rounds in the mag, got set up, and tried to chamber a round.

No luck. The cartridge wouldn’t chamber, bolt wouldn’t close. What the heck? Tried a different bullet. Nope. Tried the last bullet type. O-fer.

This doesn’t make sense, I thought. These loads feed like butter in my Tikka...

Lightbulb goes off. The loads I brought with me were neck sized only, fired in the Tikka. Of course they feed in the Tikka, they’re custom loads. No surprise they won’t fit a different chamber!

Good thing I brought the Tikka, at least I got to shoot a few. It reinforced the accuracy of the 162 ELDX. I also discovered that the Tikka didn’t care much for the 180 VLD Hunting.

That’s four shots into .527”.

I’m going to buy some cheap Hornady factory loads and 100 Hornady empties and hit the range again next week.

Duh.

Never had good accuracy from Reloader powder with Bergers . But the 4350's and 4831's shoot tight . One thing that some people don't seem to like is often the Bergers don't exit . But my experience has been massive internal damage and usually dead with in seeing distance of were the shot took place .

If Berger was the only bullet I had, I’d be satisfied.

I’ve had better results with the ELDX.

An old hunting buddy wanted one in 300UM when they came out, but got tired of waiting, finally bought one in 300 Weatherby. Made fun of him at the time, because he'd already had a 40XB in 7mm Rem Mag and a custom in 7x300 Weatherby for years. Said he was ready for a 30 caliber.

Sub one inch groups at 300 yards with his 150 Btip loads. Poor devil passed away the following year, never really got a chance to wring it out.

I bought a box of Hornady Whitetail ammo and ran it through the Sendero. All cartridges fed and ejected fine.

Sounds a lot like an older gent that I knew, use to shoot woodchucks near an old cemetery in Potter, bordering NY and PA. His name was Sam.

I like both the 162 amax and eld in the factory twisted tubes.

Great gun, I have owned one for years in 7 stw. She has done her job on multiple deer elk and hogs. Shoots sub moa. Only thin is with age I have come to not relish a days hunting with that 14 lbs. Bringing along a t3 superlite to lose some weight in the field. Partitions and accubonds were her fav for years. Havent fed her a hornady. Good luck with yours gonna be a shooter.

I may be the exception to the rule of these guns shooting well. I've owned two, a 7 RM and a 300 WM. Both would have been adequate as hunting guns but neither shot noteworthy groups. Sounds like I got the lemons off the tree.

Not just you......

Back when Pella, Iowa held 1000 yard registered Benchrest matches, we had a stock gun class. Originally I shot a Sendero in 300 Ultra mag that shot damn good, and after torching that barrel, I picked up a new take off barrel in the same chambering that was a real turd, then picked up a used Sendero in 25-06 that I ended up setting the stock class record with a 4.XX" group.

I foolishly sold that gun when I bought a new Sendero in 7mm SAUM that I knew would set the world on fire. I don't think it ever broke 1 MOA, most every group was closer to a 1 1/2 MOA average, despite trying everything under the sun to improve it.....bedding, re-crown, adding weight, and necking down 300 brass & turning necks, etc. Finally sold it to a local kid for a deer gun, which would suit him just fine.

I took it to the range last week, using American Whitetail 154 grain Interlocks.

Boresight at 50 yards, looking through the barrel and adjusting the scope accordingly.

One shot on paper, adjusted the scope. Second shot was 1/2” from the bull, let’s try 100 yards.

Unfortunately it was about 98 degrees, so the barrel got hot and stayed hot. I only shot three more times and got this:

[Linked Image]

That’s .506”. Not bad for the first outing, with factory ammo.
