May be in the market for a new camera to use rafting, hiking, beaching, climbing, etc. We've been using an Olympus tg-610 tough and have had good luck with it. It's been dropped, dusted, sunk, swam, frozen, overheated, you name it, it has been abused and still functions but we are looking for something similar that will have cheaper batteries and last longer.
I've looked st the Olympus tg-5 and like it from web views, need to play with it.
Costco sells the Fuji xp130 for $179.
What do y'all suggest as the longest lasting abusable waterproof/shockproof/Jonproof camera these days? Is it one above or something else.
It'll take pictures of kids on rafts and kayaks, my girls at the pool and climbing, hunting, the moon, flowers, cool bugs, guns or items to sell, all sorts of everyday stuff.
Thanks for any insight or recommendations! I reached out to camerland to look for open boxes or other ideas and should hear back tomorrow.
Thanks,
Jon📷

I bought the Fugi XP 120 last year at Costco. It has been 65’ down in the Caribbean and fishing in BraIl. Taking it to Dubai and Botswana in Sept. Spare generic batteries are cheap on Amazon. It takes great pictures and video with excellent battery life. And it fits in your shirt pocket! Great little camera and durable as hell.

You may have looked at this already, but it may give some opinions to consider:

I bought my daughter the Olympus Tough TG-5 this winter that she took it to Thailand... great camera, excellent photos. Really top of its class IMO.

Dad? 😀 Please let me know if you've lost my address!
Thanks for the link redrabbit, I saw another similar comparison of top 5 and they too listed the tg-5 as their top choice.

Another option is the Pentax Optio W90 waterproof camera. I have had for years now. Used it for kayak fishing, flyfishing and waterfowl hunting. It’s seen several dropsies in the water and some wet clothing as well. Operates like a champ. My two rupees worth

I would go with the TG5. When we were broken into a couple of years ago the one showcase left alone was Pentax!!! Even the crooks know to stay away from them. Fuji is nice but the best in this class is Olympus.
Give me a call with any questions
