Those serial #’s don’t jive with those in Rule’s book. Additionally, the serial #’s are broken down by month in Rule. No harm in having two references though....

The numbers in the original post are the ones in the book 'Winchester Date of Manufacture 1849-2000" George Madis Not saying they are right or wrong, only that is where they came from.

My only pre-64 Modal 70 is from 1939, the year I was born, but it is clean of scope holes. Oh, that is a 30-06 and I find I do have another in 375 H&H, along with two other different non-pre-64 375 H&H rifles.

All my others are LH Classics from after I found they were available. I'm pretty happy with Model 70s!
