Been very pleased with R26 in several cases but want to reduce load time as much as possible. Their is some good data for the 243 but none for the 6AI. I can guess and extrapolate but will not be entirely comfortable with this until comparing notes with others. Any info appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks but darn the 243 AI splits the difference between the standard 243 and the 6AI. Should work as a starting load for the 6AI. In the 243 R26 is working great with the 95 grain BT and Partitions so I may leave that one alone and work on the 6AI with the ELD-Xs and 105 Scenars. I wish I had stocked up on the 105 A-Maxs but the ELD should be as good or better I hope.

Will do but already hotter than Hades here so may be awhile. I just don't shoot as well at indoor ranges even with muffs and plugs.

Have one stock finished except I think I will get an extended box magazine so I only do load work up once. Need to check the throat as the reamer was from a silhouette shooter so I am guessing it is optimized for Sierra MKs. The ELDs ought to be close enough.

RL 26 has been like H 1000 in my testing of it...

kinda impossible it seems to get enough in a non magnum case
from the 06 on down, to exceed SAAMI pressure specs, regardless
of the bullet weight on it..

translate, its easy to work up from any data close to the same burn rate..

screwing around...I found RL 26 was even pretty darn accurate in a 223, with
a 53 grain VMax.. who knows how slow the velocity might have been tho...
thinking 2500 to 2600 fps range...

Not my experience at around 100 degrees. No pressure signs but unreal velocities. In the 6.5x55 I was getting 3100 fps and no pressure signs with a load others thought was good. I dropped back 2.5 grains and am fine at 2,950 for the 129 grainers.

Tejano, Don't know why I had problems with R-26? it was hot but don't think it was 100 deg. first thing in the morning. I double checked my loads they were all the same so I just set them back for fall and went back to my Retumbo load which I have never had trouble with no matter what the weather. I did talk to a local gunsmith that shoots competitively he is not happy with R-26 either when it's hot.

It's very easy for me to switch from R-26 to Retumbo , for me Retumbo will do every thing R-26 will, I'm sure someone will come along to say I'm wrong. Rio7

I was getting 270 Win. velocities in a 6.5x55 in hot weather. I had no background data in cooler temperatures so maybe that was what I was seeing and did not recognize it for what it was with no baseline data to compare to. I will re-test with a reduced load.

I got 3150 with the 130g Nosler accubond, about 5/8" group. Accuracy node at 2950, bug hole. This powder likes a mag primer.

In the 6.5? That was what I was getting but thought it too hot.

6.5x55, Tejano! Fed 215 made the day, 26" lilja barrel on a 700.

We made some brass from 22/250 for the 6.5x47L, shooting a 215 mag primer with 26 got us unreal velocities with 140g. We use a Forester long drop tube powder funnel.
