Home Forums Hunting & Shooting Elk Hunting 11 WY elk points for 2019. What units should I be looking at?

Like the title says. I’m a rifle hunter and would be hunting by myself so I would go the outfitted route. Is 11 points enough to get drawn in a great unit or should I keep accumulating them?

Let’s burn ‘em! I’ve got 11 also and am about to buy #12. I’m 1 under max. The way I see it, at my age of 62, I will never get into the max tier where I could possibly draw a late season tag in one of the super units. I believe I’m burning mine in 2019. Where? I don’t know.

Good areas out there without needing an outfitter. If you go outfitted ,look for a rancher hunt.
Some seasons start Oct 1 which os great for a rifle hunt, others go late into Nov. which is also good for late season private land hunt with weather.
