Cut the spine out first before marinating.
Grill heat at 400 to 415 degrees
for cooking on indirect heat (in the middle of the grill) Cook at 400-415 degrees with the breast side UP for 50 minutes.
Flip chicken to breast side down for the last 10 minutes over the grill flame. Total cooking time 60 minutes.
The bird will likely have some burn marks on the wing tips and ends of the legs.
Temp is important. Use a thermometer to check bird for being cooked properly if your grill doesn’t have a temp gauge.
Delicious...😎

Hopefully not La Choy.

Game shears/scissors. My wife did it. She’s a former surgeon. You should see her breast a duck. It’s not fast, but it’s pretty... lol.

It's chemistry set fake soy sauce. Get some real brewed stuff like Kikkoman which is still cheap and readily available.

Taste the Kikkoman first. Then taste the La Choy. The difference will be clear.

If you do it in reverse order the La Choy will taint (bludgeon) your palate and ruin the comparison.

My inventory is all real.

Your mention of La Choy brings back vivid memories of Chinese food night as a kid . Mom served La Choy canned chicken chow mein over the crunchy La Choy canned noodles.

My great aunt used to cook chop suey and La Choy products were well represented. I didn't know the better stuff as a kid forty five years ago. grin
