Saw this guy on the way into work this morning, The photo doesn't do justice to him - it was the widest rack I've seen in a long time. Maybe I should get a bow and start hunting the back yard...

Some of the biggest bucks live in the suburbs where they don't get bothered. I had a doe 10 feet from my window a couple hours ago trimming the shrubbery. One of the neighbors was complaining that a 10 pointer has been eating her flowers, so I might need to find out how a petunia fed whitetail tastes. I've seen the same deer migration into the neighborhood suburbs up north as well. Wolves won't go into town, but the smart deer will.

I've killed a 8-10 damn nice deer on the edge of towns here... find a smallish 10-40 acre tract of land and you will be surprised at what lives in there. Killed my best ever 155 class deer like that a few years ago. Most people will not hunt tiny tracts because, everyone knows, you ONLY KILL GIANTS on big tracts of land. wink

Cool.
Was up at my new property this evening watching 3 120”ish bucks and one wide 8 that was 130ish.
Can’t wait to see what’s really around.

I didn't draw a tag in this unit but a friend has an archery tag. He might be hunting nearby smile

I watched two bucks in the upper pasture for over an hour yesterday morning, ranged em at 457 yards, the 9 pt in velvet will already go 20"s wide, the younger 8pt is about 16"s, the patch they hang out in has some young willows for shade, the clover and wild oats keep em full, also a little spring fed ditch that holds a bit of good cool drinking water, they haven't showed yet this morning, probably still napping in the willows, enjoying the crosswind breeze off the cool dew.
