This load was probably to hot, but most accurate load of the day including shooting
44 rounds of 7mm Mag. OAL was 3.300 going to cut back to 3.280 and use 71.5gr. Win cases

76.5gr of H4831 got 2848 poor accuracy.

78gr of IMR 7828SSC 210 partition win cases WLRM primers 3.300 OAL
Average was 2971fps SD of 15.4 not accurate. Don,t increase.

Might try RL26 or Norma MRP, Quickload says they give fastest speed.
If my shoulder holds up. Anyway I,m going to load the 71.5gr of RL16.

Great info, thank you! Share your findings on the new loads if ya don’t mind. Thanks

That is my favorite bullet right now at this point in my 338. I am using RL17, Nosler cases, and CCI250's with the 210 Swift. I am getting 2950 from the combo and it was a monster on my last bull I took with it. Expands like crazy, but will probably get caught on the hide on the far side. Not sitting in front of my load book, but I am thinking I am around 72 grains in my cases. Gun could take more without drama, but 2950 shoots amazing and 50-100 FPS won't change much for me. I started them .050 off from the get go and they shoot like crazy!

Sounds good. Lots of powders will work. I don,t have time to try them all.
I,m using the Nosler Partitions cause I bought a lot of seconds cheap.
and I knew they were accurate.

RL19 and the 210 Partitions accounted for a few elk for me as well. Those ran about 3050 out of my Alaskan and were super accurate as well. Still wouldn't hesitate to take anything with that combo. Watch the backside of a herded up bunch of elk cause I wouldn't doubt that it would crush another after flying right on threw....

Didn't Coni Brooks kill a bunch of different big game with a 210 gr Barnes when she and her husband owned Barnes Bullets?

Went out and shot some .338 loads this morning, using 210gr Nosler Partitions.
Norma MRP was the most accurate today, also had the highest velocity. I won,t
give it to you as I believe it,s to hot. But it was over 3000 fps. SD was 6.9 for 5 shots.
One didn,t read. Actually had a 6 shot group. 5 of six shots were touching.

shot RL16 and got 2975fps SD 4.5 also very accurate.

had a box of Federal premium 210gr Nosler Partitions that I bought in 1999.
shot 4 shells and the average was 2868fps with SD of 4.6

I,m shooting a old Model M77 Ruger, with a very heavy trigger. got to do something about
that trigger. I got it used and until 3 weeks ago had only shot about 60 rounds thru it.
I don,t think the last owner shot it much either. I got it in trade for a 30/06 Ruger M77.

I guess I,ll have to load the RL26 powder and try it.

For and old guy it was pretty good. 2 weeks ago RL16 was the best load but not as fast.
my filing system leaves something to be desired, so I can,t compare them. Might still be
around here somewhere.
