Tried 4350, RL15 and RL17 and found reasonable accuracy with all three but Retumbo gave me the best accuracy so settled on it for 105 Amax & HPBT. Not a FC though.

243 is just fine. I wouldn’t turn down a nice 6 Creed, but don’t think there’s some huge gap between them.
I’ll probably be looking to upgrade my 243 in the not too distant future as mines a bit of a tank and shoots like it has an exceptionally slow twist. Loves the fast light mono’s though, so maybe it’s more about it’s bulk and weight.
I’ll probably set my sights on something a little less exotic than a Fieldcraft, even though I’d love to have one. No gap at all really, just different strengths as usually configured. His FC is an exception to the usual setup. Be curious to see if the the throating will let him seat the long ones out. Maybe I should just re-read JB's piece.
What fresh Hell is this?

Already read his thoughts on the advantages of the 6.5 Creed over the Swede, and it does have some merit with the Creed’s standardized chamber, rim and brass in general. Actually, the 6.5 Creedmoor probably makes the most sense for me if I was to make a change from the 243 altogether. As it’s become a mainstream cartridge with more availability of rifles and ammo than the 6(where I shop) while still maintaining some ease of shootability.

Jerry I couldn’t tell you exactly. It was a post or two in the middle of a long thread where he explained that the Swede’s chamber may have some variance depending on what country it was made in, and some companies even use the .473 bolt face, and manufactured brass may contain similar variances.

Lots and lots of .243 load threads on here.
Never needed a 3" mag box on a .243 especially with the 105 hpbt.
Bout sums it up....granted it's nice for some case/bullet combos... Like Pappy said, what really makes a schit is the throat dimensions.

I would try R26 go with the Alliant data, it is a winner in my rifles. Just run it up to max and then start adjusting the bullet jump is all I needed to do for mine. The FC has a 1-8 twist I believe and is perfect for the 105s-108s not sure about the Sierras or the 115s in a 1-8 but will try them at some point. The 110-115s may be iffy.
That rifle deserves good brass, I would stock up on Lapua if I had it to do over again. Currently I have probably five different manufacturers brass and this doesn't help consistency. If I were smart which I am not I would scrap all the odds and ends and get Lapua.

This from JB's article in Rifle 295:
chambers are “proprietary Barrett designs to reduce bullet jump and improve accuracy,” according to Barrett’s website, and the rifing twists reflect today’s trend toward longer bullets with higher ballistic coeficients (BC). In the .243 Winchester, the twist is one turn in 7 inches (1:7), and since the short-action magazine box is 3 inches long, longer boat-tails can be seated out to the lands, even after the chamber throat starts to erode.

I have been using a Jim Carmichaed recommended load for a lot of years. 42 grains of 4350, standard primer, and a 100 grain bullet of your choice. I like 100 NP, 95s do nicely also. He says you get around 3000fps with most 22" barrels.
