I sooooo want to shoot an elk as well. I don't even care if it's a cow elk. Mama love elk venison and so do I. We ate up all our venison from the 2 deer we shot last year.

Three of us, myself included, will have cow elk muzzleloader tags and two guys will have either sex archery elk tags.

That should be a blast!

This year I hope I get a deer. missed 2 and saw 13 deer overall last year...

Joe, just keep working at it. More trigger time never hurts. Get to the range with your dad as much as you can, buddy. It will help. Good luck!

That's actually a pretty good year Joe. 13 deer in one season is quite a bit for northern MN.

The most I saw at one time was 6 I shot twice and I gave a doe a buzz cut.

Tom knows from whence he speaks Joe. You had a darned good season. Will you hunt the same stands/spots this year?

good year for the berries. Pam and I drove out to the forest near the cabin last night and picked for about an hour and a half.

Were the bugs bad ?

It's what has been stopping us from going out.

bugs were doing bug things. Deep woods off bug spray, we managed.

Paul, some of us know what the going rate is for the berries around Dryden.

Good harvest Dave. Did you see any bear sign? We were picking blueberries at our camp in Pa. one time and walked right in on a big black bear sound asleep in the middle of the blueberry patch. We just quietly backed out and left. It must have gorged it's self on the berries and laid down for a nap.

Yep, $30-40 a pale here too.
