As I watch the media fiasco over Helsinki unfold, I ask myself if Trump lost any support from his base? What about those who consider themselves independent and voted for him? It seems to be that every time the big media tries to destroy him more, the deeper I dig in for him. I don’t think I am alone. There are things he could do that would really frustrate me, but it didn’t happen in Finland.

Do you think he will lose some support because of the presser in Helsinki?

My take:

I do believe he could have delivered his responses better, and acted more alert. But I am not abandoning him, even a little. I feel even more vindicated on my position this morning when I read an article stating that Comey is urging people to vote Democrat in Nov. Yes, the so called “Republican” is urging people to vote Democrat. Link below.

I haven’t polled everyone I know, but I haven’t seen many defections from Trump. He needs to have a rally soon.

The way I look at it, this media meltdown would have happened no matter what. Whatever Trump said, whatever happened in Helsinki, everyone was going to claim he'd failed, acted stupidly, or been handed his ass by Putin. The actual events had nothing to with it. This is exactly the same sort of crap they said after Reagan and Gorby met.

For as far as it went, my opinion matched Rush Limbaugh's. What I found interesting in Rush Limbaugh's view was that he suggested a cause. Mueller's presser, if you read it right, pretty well indicates there was no Russian collusion. Neither Trump nor anybody else connected with him conspired with the Russians to influence the 2016 election. The media had to be ginning something up fast to deflect attention away from that truth. I buy that.

By the way, from what I gather about Reagan/Gorbachev, Reagan did far worse early on in misreading his opponent. Things got pretty chilly there for a while. I do not think Trump is doing all that badly, and certainly not as bad as Kennedy with Kruschev. However, history will have to decide. If what we see is an immediate test of our will like the Cuban Missile Crisis, then we'll know Putin thinks Trump is a dolt. My guess is that he sees a way to cut a deal to their mutual benefit.

I voted for the message not the messenger. I don't care for Trump the person, never have, probably never will. But, as long as he will do the things he said he was going to, I'll support him.

I think Trump is gaining more support as the demonrats continue to meltdown. The more of the establishment that is against a Trump, the more average Americans can see him as the right man for the job.

I agree that Trump's base is strengthened and he is gaining supporters as time goes on. The media and democrat socialist outrage just drives more people to Trump. He has done more for the country in spite of the worst onslaught of partisan rancor than any other president in modern history. May his tribe increase.

He seems to be delivering more than any other president in recent history. And it's all been positive.

A demonrat meltdown will shake Trumps base.

I don't know what all of the fuss over the Helsinki meeting is about. The man is doing a great job especially considering that he is getting very little co-operation from either party.
I feel that there are many people in this country who would rather see harm come to our country than for Pres. Trump to succeed. As far as the left, when I listen to them it's like they are collectively losing their hold on reality.

My friends and I agree with James. A few more Supreme appointments and we will be good. I would like to see him put Vlad's nuts in a vice though!

Obama was the coup de gras for the Democratic Party as it was known. Everybody but the infirm and financially entrenched aborted it. How many God fearing, gun toting, yellow dog democrats have the balls to say they couldn't take it anymore? I know there are a lot of you.

NONE of the other candiates would have even attempted to do what he's doing . The dems/commies/MSM wouldn't be doing anything more than grumbling a bit if Cruz/rubio/ad nauseam would have been elected . The commies know their crimes would go unanswered - too much for a politician to tackle . Trump isn't one of them .....

I support the majority of what Trump has done.

Love the man. He's crushed the Clinton's and the Bush's and is hammering the leftists. I never thought we'd get to this point. He could surpass the great Ronald Reagan. Maybe has already.

I'm sure there's a young crop of Conservatives out there watching and learning how to combat the left and win, not cower.
