Gotta love a cheap 6.5 CM as I’m not sure I would pay the entrance admission of going new. Mine is an old shot out 700 ltr in .308. A buddy had a new 20” Bartlein Marksman chambered in 6.5 CM for a song so off it went to be screwed together. In the interest of cheap I dug out my old airbrush and Shot a coat of fde durakote which looked like ass as I’m no Picasso. I wanted to hate it in the worst was but it shoots amazing no matter what gets put in it.

Luckily for me the wife claimed it so my ego is still intact. She didn’t like the color so it’s out being cerakoted some girly color combo. Supposed to be urban gray with added metallic on the metal and ridgeway with black and silver splatter on the stock. Supposed to pick it up tomorrow so we shall see how horrid it looks. I’m hoping for absolute ugly stepsister hideous ugly as it’s accuracy will quiet the critics.

How are you guys liking the 6.5 creedmore for whitetail. I keep boggling between 6.5cm and 7mm rem for a mid to long range hunting gun. I use .270 now and it’s my all around gun. Would like to have dedicated gun for open areas because I want different optics than what I carry everywhere. I like idea of having a 6.5 cm tack driver with good optics set up.

6.5 Creedmoor ballistics are excellent for deer. I've experienced it via the 260 Remington, but the deer can't tell which case the bullet was launched out of.

Today was the first outing, since the post above. Last time, I shot 8 rounds to get a 100 yard zero with the LRSTi. Today we went straight to 500 yards, and rounds #9, 10, 11, and 12 went sub-MOA into the center of a 12" armor plate. Then 595 yards, and still sub-MOA on another 12" plate. Shut it down as 500 & 600 were too easy sleep and the barrel isn't even broken-in yet grin

Need more rounds, distance, and footage, but so far I'm impressed with the 700 and factory Horny 147 ammo. POI matched the data and elevation dialed, but at only 4.1 mils it wasn't much of a test. Still need to run a tall target test.

Hope to get a better report posted, but archery elk is right around the corner and I've got a new bow to shoot grin
