I burn pretty much everything that isn't metal or part of the cabin structure, so I think I will extend an open invitation to Flave in case he's ever back in Montana. Just head west on 12 from the junction with 89 and turn left about three miles towards Townsend...look for the white smoke.

Maybe some off grid ideas too.

Back to the original post... while cabins are wonderful (what hunter doesn’t want one?), the new forum (hint Rick) should deal with all structures, from barns and shops, to cabins and full-on homes. The same skills acquired building homes apply to smaller cabins, and I suspect there are plenty of people on this forum with a lot of wisdom to share.

Nice thread found in the vast wasteland that is the Hunters Campfire...

Twenty or more years ago there was an operation over in Livingston that built cabins to be re-assembled on site. They had about a dozen models, but my favorite was named, I kid you not, “The Unabomber.”

I'm learning a lot about building these days, everything from foundation to structure to electric to insulation. I'll be getting schooled up on plumbing and laying down flooring here in the coming weeks.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Simple enough, it can replace the "Australia" forum.

Since the wife sometimes hunts 'from' it I guess it could technically pass as a cabin....
