I took a nice browning 92 trapper in 44 mag on a trade about a year ago on a whim. Shot it a couple of times and decided it just wasn't my thing so now I'm thinking about unloading it in the classifieds. If I were to take a educated guess I would say it is 95%+ condition.

I've scoured the gun auction sites and I'm not having any luck finding a recent sale for comparison supposedly there were less than 1500 produced which would explain why there are none for sale.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I don't know about the Trapper model as I've only seen the Browning 92 made in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Those were made in 357 and 44. The 44 usually sells for somewhere between $700-$1000 but usually at the lower end of that range. If it's a newer model, I don't know anything about it but I'd expect it to be worth less than the older ones.

You’d probably have to auction it off on gunbroker to get top dollar.

My estimation is more based on what I would pay for one($1000?), if I wanted one, than what I think someone else might pay for it ($1500 maybe).

Of course, you may get much more if there’s a crowd on gunbroker that have been looking for one all their life... or not

But Levers is probably closer to reality with his 700 to 1000 range.
I know I’ve seen a nice 94 Trapper in 45 that the shop was asking $900 for. And that was maybe 7 or 10 years ago. Probably depends a lot on what the wood looks like.

I’d put it on GB with a starting bid of $1000.

I bought one of the Browning 92 Trappers in 44 mag brand new in 1980. It was a very accurate little rifle with the 200 gr Speer softpoints and a max load of WW-296. It was a kicking little bastard, though because of the crescent style steel butt plate. Last one I saw for sale in a LGS was priced at $900, but it set on their shelf forever.
