T....thanks for the info, it gets me into the ball park. The info would indicate my weapon is in the 4th change, #6954xx, so I guesstimate mid to late 30's. I am pleased to have the weapon, I am my uncle namesake, so I have his first name and his first duty weapon. The weapon is hand stamped on the grips Mobile Police Dept...thanks again. Mackie

Very happy I could help Sir, and I concur with your date estimate, probably 34-35.

My uncle passed from cancer three years ago, he served in Korea during the war, and retired from the PD after 35 or so years. Was in the National Guard until the day he passed. I received this pistol, a Winchester 1876 in .45-75 made in 1883, a Remington 41 Rimless double barrel derringer and Colt 25 auto. Sadly we never met...after a very bitter divorce my father kept us from our Mother and her family. 2 1/2 years ago, they found me via the internet (a Goggle search), they never forgot about me and or gave up hope in finding me. So after 43 years I was reunited with my Mother and that half of my family of which my Uncle was apart. It changed my life....so these pieces are truly treasures...more than you might think or imagine. Thanks again for all the help. Mackie
