Thanks for all the input. Looks like triggertech has a solid product.

You're going to love that Tac Sport. Just got one in a 7 Rem. Mag. Eddie Fosnaugh put together for me. It's phenomenal.

I have several of both and honestly don't see much of a difference. Both are fantastic triggers.

Timney Calvin Elite 2-stage by far my favorite thus far.

I've used both and they're both good, neither is as nice as a jewell though. If you go with a triggertech then get the special, I've found that the lowest weight they claim is optimistic.

IMO, the choice depends entirely on which model from each brand you're comparing.

In the $150 price range, I'd choose the Triggertech Primary over the Timney Std 700.

In the $180 - $225 price range, I'd go with the Timney Calvin Elite over the Triggertech Special.

However, at a 2.5 lb "hunting" trigger pull, you won't notice much, if any difference between these triggers. Any trigger from either brand set at 2.5# will be more than great. That heavy of a pull weight masks the slightly different characteristics of each trigger. You really have to go below 2# before you start noticing subtle differences between these triggers. I generally set my hunting triggers to 2#, and at that pull weight, I haven't seen anything that beats the Timney Calvin Elite, though there are a few that are comparable. Until you get into the uber high end competition triggers set for a few ounces or less and costing over $300, the Calvin Elite is as good as triggers get from my experience.
