Been a LOOOONG time since I bought an air rifle. I have a 30-yr old Beeman that is still shooting great
But now my daughter and I are shooting more in the backyard and I'd like to have two rifles so we can do little "duels" (setting up 5 empty shotshell hulls each and having a "war" for example).
Maybe some squirrel hunting with it, but not the primary purpose. More interested in a good accuracy and not super loud. And not breaking the bank...lol.
Any suggestions? Break barrel rifles are my preference.
Thanks!

Duckduckgo.com says there are several Beemans out there . . . Only you know what is "reasonable". https://duckduckgo.com/?q=Beeman+pellet+rifle&t=ffsb&ia=products

Daisy 901. More powerful than the lower powered springers. And very accurate. And quiet.
I would recommend the smaller Daisy 35, but it’s a smoothbore. I think I’m going to get one for myself and put a rifled barrel in it. A camo one.

Our 35 smoothbore is the most accurate and powerful BB gun we have, unique as is.

Not sure of your price range but would recommend either a Beeman R7 or Weihrauch HW30 (same rifle, different badging). You can get either for < $300. Not a high power springer (6-700 fps in .177) but a super smooth shooter with a great trigger that will last a lifetime.

+1 on the R7, might as well order 2 though - and you'll need to shoot empty 22lr cases - shotgun cases won't be much of a challenge.

Paintballs on golf tees are a blast. Nice reactive targets. I can hit these regularly with my Daisy 131 sporting a Ruger Airhawk takeoff 4x scope at 25 or 30 yards.Kind of an R7 wannabe but with a shorter LOP. Still choose a 901 over either if squirrels were on the menu.

So out of curiosity, I checked the stamp on my old Beeman.
It’s an R7. “Made in W. Germany”.

Tom, I would strongly recommend either the R7 or the HW30s by Weihrauch, same gun, different price points. Even if your kid outgrows it, you never will I have a HW30s that is a pleasure to shoot, even with cheap Daisy pellets is quite accurate.

Hey, Pablo. Good to hear from you.
I have an R7. I shot mt father’s RWS36 next to my R7 yesterday.
The R7 is definitely a higher class rifle but the 36 was no slouch. It was a bit more harsh than the R7, but part of that is likely the increase in power in the 36.

If you want a moderate step up in power from the R7 without the harshness, I would recommend the HW50S. Same great trigger (Rekord) as your Beeman and the shorter double-jointed cocking arm that lessens the cutout in the bottom of the stock. Along with it is a small increase in price though.

I actually grabbed that RWS 34 in the classifieds. For the price it was listed it seems a great buy. I’ve blown $175 on worse.

The RWS arrived yesterday. Love it.
It has an older T05 trigger that some on the web seem to dislike, but I gotta say.....it's pretty dang good.
Now...need to figure out a new mount and scope for the Beeman. That mount and scope I have on it have been there for 30+ years. The mount walks, and the reticle is broken in the POS scope on it, although it still shoots a 1-hole group for 5 shots at 10 yards. I just want something a little nicer than what I got on it. The RWS has a good mount on it...the scope is serviceable, but I'm thinking of buying two scopes...one for each, and a mount for the beeman.
Any suggestions?

The scope I currently have on both of my gas-ram air rifles is Hawke Airmax 4-12 x 40. I'm very happy! Doug has them for $159.99 which is cheaper than their 3-9 x 40.
I don't have any other air rifle scopes so I can't help with any other options, sorry.
