Rather than hijack the "Hunting rifle battery (does anyone actually do it?)" thread I thought I'd start a new one.

I'd rather spend money on rifles, handguns, reloading, optics. hunting and other shooting expenses than:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Drugs (recreational)
  • Women (other than my wife)
  • Golf
  • Most other first person sports (as in almost all except fishing)
  • Spectator sports
  • Ocean cruises (especially with 3,000 of our closest friends)
  • Anything else that involves large crowds
  • Vacations to most places
  • Movies or other theater (especially other theater)
  • Fancy clothes
  • Fancy vehicles
  • Fancy home
  • Keeping up with the Jones
  • Gambling

And about a gazillion other things.

I have spent most of my fortune on:

Fine Rifles
Hot Women
Hunting Trips
Top Shelf Bourbon

The rest I just wasted.

I agree J, about the only other thing I can think of that might be as good as spending money on guns is spending it on motorcycles....👍......Hb

Slow day today, only got another Garrow Hummer in the Mail and another S&W Model 41 spout(to replace a TIRED one).

[Linked Image]

Been pretty Fished Up and haven't opened all my Mail...but might get around to it,after this next batcha' fish exits the Bradley and the eggs are all put up.

Seems like there should be more barrels and glass coming.................

(Addendum)

Made a quick pass,to open some which was handy.

Multiple Man Purse/Satchels arrived.

Along with more AICS bindered 6 BR mag gut conversions.

Always nice to extrapolate, side by each.

Rick's wrapper is Skookum and certainly makes the grade for Zeiss and the like. It's trim, unobtrusive and less any fhuqking Fluff. Trouble was/is,that the fhuqking POS Reica Geovids don't correct horizontal for fhuqk all,so while they'll fit in a RYO size "D",they'll HURT production. Jim at Marsupial, will happily take care of that, with his "2018 Medium". One can slam an OLD Fhuqking School MildotMaster in either pocket,to contend Teutonic STUPIDITY. While certainly not RYO handy(or dandy),it can be pressed into service.

There's lotsa FishUSA parcels and I prolly shoulda Mailed back the (2) rods that were puked in as many days this week already, but I left 'em streamside for the less fortunate. Most stores will swap 'em out less fanfare, but shipping will reap a replacement...so win/win,as I didn't have to take time to fhuqk with 'em.

Visting pards are hard on my NIB Riggin'.

Looking to be a 500 Feesh Week...which ain't as "bad" as it sounds.(grin)

I finally got busy or less bored enough to lay off of gun/ammo/glass hoarding and haven't bought any in the last year.

Small stash to begin so it doesn't amount to much. And I'd much rather hunt than shoot so your not continually looking for the next best thing.
(an uber spotting scope would be sweet)

Would also love to get a suppressed setup.

FWIW, spend about $250-300/month on beer/at home.

Maybe $100/month on tequila.

Well I've got a small DJ service I run on the side, has been my fun/gun money for years. Currently it is all going into a separate account toward the shed/shop I want to build. Hoping to get that done in the either fall of next year or spring of '20 depending on how big I build and how fast I save. I am finishing up a project(slowly wink ), but not using the DJ money so it is a bit of a longer process.

Once I get the shop built though...

Nice looking bike!

Sold my last one (Honda 750 bored to 850) back in 1980. Did a couple cross-country rides (IA to FL for a couple months and MN to MA for a month). Rained on me from WI to PA - was fortunate to have put a wind screen on it before leaving. Still, yuck on that much rain. Sold it after the friend I bought it from was killed on his Yamaha XS1100 (?) replacement. He was driving past a remote country cemetery and a deer jumped out in front of him. He had just gotten engaged and his fiancee had convinced him to sell this bike. Had had an incident in the service (1972?) with my Honda 250 where I had to go Bullitt and ride it out after a car in the right lane made a sudden turn onto a side street on the left. After Wayne died I decided my luck was limited.

Get the urge every now and then but not enough to part with the bucks needed to get what I would want. An ATV, though, even my wife wants one. smile

Thanks for the compliment.

I understand D B M (death by motorcycle), it does happen!!
I don't know anyone who died riding a Mcy.

OTOH - I have had friends die from --- Cancer --- Heart Attacks --- Car Wrecks --- Fall from Ladders --- frown frown

**MY** perspective is this, I don't intend to be sarcastic, critical, or smug.

I don't sleep on a railroad track -- or an Interstate Freeway -- or IN a mortuary!!!! ( I have a funny story about that ) laugh

We can NOT avoid ALL things that MIGHT kill us.

Listen to the Medical Ads..... it takes longer to tell of the Side Effects - than the benefits. confused
One year -- COFFEE is bad for us.........Next year -- Coffee is good.... et.al. wink

More people are killed in automobile accidents than MANY things SO.... where DO we stop?
