Anyone have any experience with these? Available in 45 ACP, 9mm, .40 S&W, 10mm and .357 SIG, Makes it interesting and appealing. http://www.tnwfirearms.com/category-s/1817.htmI was going to build a lightweight AR pistol for a corner of room gun w/ a laser, but these have caught my eye.

brother in law bought one of the survival rifles in 10MM. He has been shooting it for about a year now, says zero issues, and a lot of fun.

Thanks. I am not crazy about the ejection port on both sides of the receiver. Kinda a hang-up for me.

Good grief!
What the hell is a Survival Pistol?
A study was done many years ago and the best survival pistol was a Browning High Power.
Why? Parts and ammo available most places in the world.
Second place was a Ruger Mark 1 and a brick of .22 ammo.

covejeepsxj, I believe Mr. MarineHawk posted about his purchase of a 10mm version with pics of his son shooting it. May want to check with him for first hand info.

The item they're selling, obviously. It's marketing, they can call it whatever they want. One might presume from the name and specs that it's intended to be a small and light firearm that can be used as part of a survival kit, such as for bush pilots or similar.
As for it being a pistol - perhaps you haven't noticed all the firearms lately that look mostly like short rifles, but are legally pistols? The short answer is that the receiver is sold as "other" or as a "pistol", and the weapon uses an arm brace or just a buffer tube instead of a stock, so it remains a pistol. For the long answer, do some research on arm braces and pistols.
The general idea is not as dumb as you seem to think, but it may be well outside your world of interests. Did you notice which forum you're in? Not many wood stocked deer rifles and upland shotguns being discussed here...

covejeepsxj, I believe Mr. MarineHawk posted about his purchase of a 10mm version with pics of his son shooting it. May want to check with him for first hand info. Right Local Dirt. Mine is the rifle in 10mm. It's fairly light and compact at 5.0 lbs. Mine has some added weight (scope, etc …). Interestingly, the pistol version is 1/2 lb heavier than the rifle. So, I would prefer the lighter 16.25"-barreled rifle to the heavier 8"-barreled pistol, but that's just me. Given my fondness for carrying my G40 everywhere I can and might need it, the TNW ASR makes a good companion because it takes the same mags. The ASR adds about 250 fps over the G40 with most loads. First picture below is the one you mentioned. Second pic is a bit earlier, with just the scope added.

Duel ejection ports. That's nice, since I have a left hand shooter in the house as well.

TNW's responsiveness to emails is inconsistent. Telephone works better, but that's only on weekdays. Chris Bero is the guy you want to talk to.
