I’m just starting to load for the 7mm Wby and there doesn’t seem to be a whole bunch of info out there with newer powders and bullets.

I’m going to start with MRP and 160gr Partitions, but I’d also like to try 175gr Partitions and 145gr LRX. I have several powders on hand. H4350 (which i’d Prefer for the 145’s), RL26, MRP and IMR7828.

What have you tried and found to be a good combo? This is a late model Mk.V with 1:10 twist.

Not exact match but I have a 7mm STW I’m loading 143 gr Hammer Hunters and RL 26 and pretty much one hole load when I do my part. 3390 fps but I could take it up to almost 3600 if I wanted. That should perform close to the LRX I actually have a 12 bullet sample pack and the hammers shot and worked so well I never got around to trying the LRX.

I have an old Weatherby from 1950 with a new 24" barrel with a 9" twist. I shoot 160 grain Barnes TSXs with 68 grains of RL-19 for just under 3,000 fps. With 140 grain TSXs I use 68 grains of H4350 or IMR4350 for around 3,200 fps. I have RL-26, but haven't used it yet. RL-25 didn't give me anything RL-19 didn't. It just required more powder to do the same thing, with worse accuracy. Try your H4350 with 140s or 145s. As I recall, Barnes shows RL-19 most accurate with 160s and IMR4350 most accurate with 140s.

Curious about RL26 as it works so well in my 7mm RM, but I think I’ll need to wait until spring before I can experiment. MRP is loaded and ready to go with the 160’s and I’ll try H4350 with the 145’s

Just don't overlook the IMR-7828 like a previous poster had suggested. Like him, I load for a 7-STW not a Weatherby. But with 140's the 7828 is the world beater..........insane velocities with great accuracy.

I have done very well with 76.0 grains of RL25, 160 grain Nosler Accubond in a Weatherby case ignited by Federal F215M primers. 24 inch tube averages 3,083 fps. Consistently shoots three shot groups in the 1 inch range.

Thanks for the tips. I loaded some 160 Partitions with MRP for now - will report back after range session.

My 7mm Wby rebarrel (1-9 faster twist, 26" barrel) REALLY likes H4831 SC with 162-grain ELD-X bullets. RETUMBO is very good with 150-grain Ballistic Tips, too, but not like H4831 SC.
Federal factory loading with 160-grain TBBC nickelled bullets and cases, although with proprietary powder looked like Ramshot MAGNUM with something extra. Tried it with same bullet and got a bit less velocity than factory. By the way, Remington cases hold significantly less powder compared with Federal, Weatherby and Hornady brass.
