Looks like that area is going to be my new home in about 30 days.

Yup. No more spur of the moment lunches in Texarkana...

I'm just South of San Antonio right now. It was 74° at 05:00AM.
I was in Anchorage for a few days last week, getting my house there ready to sell and the leaves were turning. Beautiful time of year there.

Not quite the Garden Spot of New Mexico, but close to some good hunting--and it's NOT Albuquerque/Santa Fe. A little warmer and a lot dryer than you are accustomed to...but, hey, it's a dry heat!

...but, hey, it's a dry heat! After being told that one mid-July day in Phoenix, AZ, my response was, and still is; "tell that to the damned Turkey in the oven!" 😁 Another chapter begins... Jeff, I am not being exiled, I sorely need a change as the last few years have been beyond miserable. Ending a 27 year marriage to a stranger has not been a fun ride. Texas is still "home". It took me many years to get there and I'm not going to forsake it. Ken, East is where the sun rises in the morning. You know, that big yellow ball that climbs in the sky? 😁 Amigo, I am glad to see you posting here! Gene, Welch is just around the corner compared to GIlmer. You can count on me helping out with the prairie dogs. 😀 Ed

Lea county is just west of me and Hobbs is about 45 minutes away.
