I got some from Interstate that didn't last but a couple of years.

Last time I stepped up and got the good ones from the cart shop here. Much bedder...

You can have cheap or good, but probably not both. Sorry, I don't know the brand that I have. I can look in the morning.

Not sure of the size you need... but believe it or not Home Depot sell Exide batteries as cheap as I have ever found...

BTW... separate question... what is the difference between a 24 and a 24F battery?

I know R stands for Reverse posts, but 24F and 24 seem the same to me in every way... except the 24 is $5 cheaper.

And no I do not think it means front posts.

Thanks...

Costco carries yellow top Interstate GC 6v batteries but they aren't the same thing as the good ones you get from Interstate. They're 1/3 cheaper but only have about 25% of the capacity. I have 2 of the Interstate green top ones on my camp trailer. They carry some serious power, far more than the Costco version.

Use Trojan brand. If they are properly cared for, you can get 5-6 yrs. if you don’t care for them properly, no battery will last more than 3-4 yrs.

This is assuming use as a golf cart.

Around here, approx $150 ea

I read that on the web also... I'll do a F2F looksee at the store...

Also read stuff about S & N (thin plate vs. thick plate (North vs. South etc.))...

The one tidbit I do know is that these things work... https://www.batterymart.com/p-2012-...oNMewGDeMziEKcMCgZ1PzQefEKIaAr7hEALw_wcB

Several batteries I have owned and thought were dead... came back for 3-4 more years of serviceable life after desulfating.

Assuming you need 4 12volt batteries (Club Car?), DO NOT put marine/RV batteries in it!

Most companies designate them as GC12V, or 12VGC, most in the 150-180 Ah range. Trojans will hold up the best, just be sure to keep the fluid levels checked and shut off the charger after you have determined they are charged by using a hydrometer, NOT when the charger shuts down....

R stands for reverse. F stands for Ford, which uses the R designation today for reversed posts.

Ford, starting in the 50's, decided to have their own special morphydite batteries(the 29nF for Thunderchickens as an example) for their vehicles and eventually added the "logic" to standards like 24's and 27's.
The idiocy continues to this day, with most manufacturers building specialty battery parts for each individual vehicle, even though the vehicle doesn't know the difference.
