I saw these on sale at Grafs. 18.99 for box of 250.

I was wondering if anybody has tried them? I bought a few to play with.

They are normally loaded it seems, from my limited research, in their Frontier line. I could not find it on their web site or a hornady # for the bullet profile.

I would hope they are good for deer hunting as that is what I hope to use them for a little this year in a 22-250 if it will keep them straight.

Anybody try them?

They shoot really well in my Ruger American .223. Have not tried them on deer. Maybe this season. Got mine from Midsouth and looked for more after getting such tiny groups, but they seemed to be a one time deal.

I am going to try them with some CFE223 as my .22-250 likes that 33 to 35 grains. I have a very good load with hornady's 55 grain soft points but thats at 36 grains.

I picked up 500 of them from Graf's. They are noticeably shorter than the 62 gr HPBT bullets from Mid South. So they stabilized in my 1 in 12" twist Remington 26" barrel. 5 shot group was about 1.5" at 100 yards. The grouped around an inch from the 1 in 8" twist AR's. So, my thoughts are that they are a little less accurate than the HPBT's in the AR's, but useable in the bolt gun. Going to try them in my son's 20" 1 in 12" twist 22-250. If they shoot in that, they may turn out to be a good antelope bullet for Montana. If you ask me, it looks like a slightly overgrown version of Hornady's current 55 gr SP, with the mild boat tail. A decent bullet, given the bargain price.

I have some but have not loaded them yet. I bought them to shoot in my 1-8'' Tikka 22-250.

Do those resemble either of these?



The one on the left was pulled from a factory Frontier "62GR SP"; the one on the right was from a box of so-called "Factory Second 62 Grain Locked Core Spitzers" purchased from Midway earlier this year.

I haven't shot any of either yet.

The one on the left. The boat tail is not as pronounced as on some long distance bullets but they go into the case easy enough and seat nicely in the case. I loaded some today with 26 grains of CFE.223. If it ever stops raining I'll get out and shoot some from a 1/9 twist Mini 14 and AR.

I bought some 62 grain bulk BTHP Hornady from Midsouth. Loaded them in .223 with 26.1 Varget which made a pretty full case. They shot really well out of a 1 in 8 twist 20 inch barrel AR15. Have taken about 20 hogs with the 62 Hornady and a few with the 75 grain of the same variety.

I had some of those, they were loaded in some mixed ammo from Paragon Surplus in mixed brass. Some 55 FMJs, some HPs and some softpoints, both 55 and 62.
I ended up pulling all the SPs to see what was what and then re-seating them, sorted. Wow, did those 62s shoot! Not a single group of five was over an inch, and what I shot at PDs never missed. I've thought about getting some more of them as coyote bullets, they shoot.

A little off subject. Where would be a good source of .223 rem. brass? Once fired is ok.
