Did you guys try Thermacells?

They are about the only thing to use this time of year if you want to stay in the woods.

I have a Thermacell, the woods we hunt consist of mostly low swampy bottoms and breeding grounds for them devil flys. Don’t get me wrong the thermacell does help along with off but they still bite and land on the thermacell. I have not seen anything work 100% yet!

I hear ya.

Yeah, some will bite even with the Thermacell.

But that gadget makes the difference between staying in the woods, vs. heading for the house.

Didnt know you guys had fox squirrels down there! Shouldn't surprise me..Ive seen a bunch in texas....


He spoke in tears of 15 years his dog and him traveled about. The dog up and died. She up and died....After 20 years he still grieves.

Some of the biggest reds in the south. Big a house cats in some areas, lots of black ones to.

I've seen squirrel hunters using head nets like one would use turkey hunting. Does a good job with skeeters.

And every year I say I am gonna get one and never do. I may break down and bring one next trip, I can take the bites for the most part but the constant buzzing around my face and then flying up your nose and in ear gets irritating.

Used to be a lot of Chuckle Heads near Lake Charles. Said to be as large as house cats.

Cooked up by someone who knows their stuff, they mighty good.

Cat squirrels are more tender, fry up really nice. Fox squirrels are bigger and tougher. Need more cooking.
