Thermacell is your friend.

And, a few still slip thru.

Humidity and skeeters.

Did you guys try Thermacells?

They are about the only thing to use this time of year if you want to stay in the woods.

Louisiana at this time of year will convert you to Thermacell advocate.

Then, once we get a mess of those bushy tails, then we'll talk gravy... grin

I have a Thermacell, the woods we hunt consist of mostly low swampy bottoms and breeding grounds for them devil flys. Don’t get me wrong the thermacell does help along with off but they still bite and land on the thermacell. I have not seen anything work 100% yet!

I hear ya.

Yeah, some will bite even with the Thermacell.

But that gadget makes the difference between staying in the woods, vs. heading for the house.

.

I've seen squirrel hunters using head nets like one would use turkey hunting. Does a good job with skeeters.

And every year I say I am gonna get one and never do. I may break down and bring one next trip, I can take the bites for the most part but the constant buzzing around my face and then flying up your nose and in ear gets irritating.

Used to be a lot of Chuckle Heads near Lake Charles. Said to be as large as house cats.

Odd that you say that...to the non-believers I always tell them I'd rather have a squirrel than a lobster!

Cooked up by someone who knows their stuff, they mighty good.

Cat squirrels are more tender, fry up really nice. Fox squirrels are bigger and tougher. Need more cooking.
