Shot over the weekend. Sadly, the photos of the big one(s) did not make the cut; focusing issue discovered too late. Guess I better find them again grin

Great shots! Always interesting eyes on sheep. Looks like years around 4 and 5 were had really good grub for horn growth. Cookie is curious about the rut dates (approximate start to finish) in that neighborhood

Have not targeted bighorns in Nov so only know it is in line with the deer rut meaning mid Nov. Only hunted them once but tagged out before the rut. I hope to get after this group in a month (weather dependent) or so and get a few action shots. I get pretty excited shooting bighorns and get a little too trigger happy. Lots more photos to go through.

Thanks for the info. Cookie will just have to adjust her priorities. We have some California's nearby, and rams are also after the ewes in mid-Nov. Some head banging though in mid-Oct. Cookie won't pull herself away from the Nov mule deer though to go after them.

She is thinking Bison Range in Aug/Sept 2019 for both sheep and elk.

Good luck this fall,

The bison range is awesome. Keep an eye out for big mule deer and I mean BIG as in 200" + also huge whitetails, elk and sheep...... wink

Fair_Chase and irfubar:

Time on the Bison Range? No, but several of Cookie's professional buddies hit it usually in late August returning with good sheep, elk, deer, some bear images, and strangely enough never any bison. Hear good things as well about the island in Flathead Lake.

Had intentions in 2017, but were traveling with a 3-rig convoy doing Glacier, Yellowstone, and some points in between. Lots of smoke then and pictures were pretty much a bust anyway. Some of that party included college kids from Bozeman, and we lost a couple days getting them back for classes.

Same intentions this year, but Cookie got hit with grand jury duty for July into Sept. They run a spontaneous call-up schedule here dependent on arrests etc, and we were simply stuck with having to stay close.

Wish there were some facilities on site or closer to the Bison Range, as it sounds like one has to do a 30+ mile run from any sort of civilization every AM to make it to the gate opening. We're quite fine with dry camping etc, but not much of that nearby either. Cookie likes to get out and at them if there's a enough light to walk around without falling down. If she can put things down in the evening, she has great luck returning in AM darkness to prime vantage points. Works amazingly well for her with pronghorn. Sneaks in discretely in the dark, and when the sun comes up, they're often still bedded within 60 or 70 yds of her blind.

Have a good one and keep em coming. Will start in on deer in a week or so. Our numbers are locally down though, and we're not excessively optimistic about the coming season.

The richness of the low light in #5 (first of the second set) puts it on top for me.

Thank you and appreciate the comment. Couldn't quite put my finger on it but that one jumps out to me as well.
