Well not maybe everything, but today I went catfishing again. I was using garlic and pickle juice soaked hotdogs. Caught a nice 27 inch channel, but a half hour later, the rod tip dipped and I started reeling. Felt like a smallish channel. Wasn't putting up near the fight, but not bad.
Landed a 21 inch large mouth bass! On hotdogs off the bottom!
I have a great photo, but I don't have a photo hosting site that I use so I can't post it. It's a pig!
Has anyone else caught bass on hotdogs off the bottom?

Reminds me of a TV clip for a carp fishing club years back in I think Arkansas. Each member had secret but very extravagant bait recipes that would put Martha Stewart to shame. Largest and most take won the prizes, and one was charged a hefty fine (like $20) if he mistakenly landed any species of game fish. Those funds sponsored a year end party.
Can't say I've bagged anything on hotdogs.

I've seen a walleye taken with bubble gum, and heard of banana peel.

Caught a sauger on a hotdog once, better never a bass.

I've never caught a bass on such bait but I have caught loads of catfish, usually flatheads, on all manner of artificial lures.
