I looked ar a new Marlin 357 today, I had every intention of buying it. When I shouldered it, the front sight appear to be canted to the left a little. I also looked at a 44, that one seemed fine.

I sell firearms for a living,I haven't seen any mechanical issues with the new Marlins. The only real cosmetic issues have been Marlin being able to match the stock and forend finish on some of their rifles but that's gotten much better.Personaly,I'd buy a new Marlin.

Canted sights on the new Marlins is a very common problem now. Go over to Marlinowners and you will see just how bad it is.

I have half a dozen...quality and sight alignment seems excellent on mine...or am just fortunate.
Many of the gentlemen over there admit their eyesight isn't what it used to be...
Don't ask me about my military service or heroic acts...most of it is untrue.
