I have used it in a "pet load" for my 7mm Mag rifle and have noticed the following:

a) It's real performance does not much what QuickLoad estimates. For example, my load of 65 grain N570 produces ~ 2870 f/s wheres quick load predicts only 2670 f/s velocity and a peak pressure of 36500 PSI.
b) it produces very accurate groups
c) the barrel looks more dirty than normal after 10 shots (perhaps indicating substantial unburned powder? Quickload predicts that only 87% of the powder will be burned in a 25.5 inch barrel)

Does anyone here use N570? What are your experiences?

I have used it in a 6x62R Freres.

QL pays no justice whatsoever to this -or to other- VV powders.

It was extremely accurate in my K95 kiplauf with several 100gr bullets.

It left a lot of soot in the barrel until you started reaching maximum speeds, the higher pressures seemingly leaving far less residue.

Thanks chamois! You have confirmed my findings. I am planning to do a new series of loads going up to 71 grains of N570 in my 7mm magnum. This should bring the velocity up to about 3100 f/s and make a more complete burn.

A side question: From my experience, N560 seem to be very close or identical to Norma MRP. Is it safe to say N570 is close to Norma 217?

I use it in my 7mmRM.

Performance is excellent. Watch for pressure signs, they came up quick for me.

Disseminator,

Could you please be a bit more specific? What bullet weight and charge did you use it with? At what velocity you observed pressure signs?

Thanks

Tried it in the mashburn and got about 3240 and one inch groups with the 150 e tip.

I use 160-175 grain bullets in my 7mmRM. I used Quickload to come up with my loads. I reduced and worked up as per usual. I'd rather not post the charge as it is specific to my rifle and not published. I haven't shot them over my ProChrono yet but estimated velocities via QL, which have been close/accurate in the past for me, were great.

Velocity is +100 FPS over MAGPRO (My previous fav) with most bullet weights for me. I generally lean heavy for caliber and would recommend that with this powder.

160 AccuBond: 3150 fps
175 ELDX: 3000 fps

Both loads were mildly compressed at about 107%
Rifle is a Model 70 Classic DBM with 26" Barrel
