I found a good supply of 130 grain 270 Remington Core Lokt bullets. (Maybe a couple hundred bullets)
I just shot a 3/4” 3 shot group and then after adjusting the scope a 1” 5 shot group. I am using 61 grains H4831sc, CCI 200 primers, WW brass - 100 yards.
This load shot ~ 3,050 FPS give or 15 fps. 32 degrees F. Very little if any wind. 1,200 feet elevation. I’ll be hunting at or around 4,000 to 5,000 ft elevation in the Black Hills.
It’s been a while since I’ve used Core Lokt bullets as they are hard to find as reloading components. It’s also not in my BC application.
I was going to plug the load into my ballistics calculator, but I could not find a ballistics coefficient for that bullet. Do any of you have this information? It looks a little more blunt than Hornady Interlock bullets.
I have one more tag to fill and I think this will be the selected rifle/ammo.
It’s rare that I end up shooting even 100 yards for deer, even though I hunt Open spaces a lot. But I like to have a trajectory info handy. Thanks for your help.
