I've got $600 and want a 1in scope w/dot reticle...preferably a 1minute dot... that doesn't way a ton. Any suggestions? powdr

Doug has Hawkes, many of which can be had with lighted dots. Some have extra crosspoints below the dot, some don't. I have an Endurance 30 8x56 and like it.

I already have one of those on my 257AI but would like to try something different. The dot is a little bigger than I like. Surely there's something out there. powdr

Depending which koolaid you drink - Leupold has some Firedot options that do what you want. I use one in the Mark AR series; 1 moa green dot in the center of the reticle on a motion sensor, and they are a pretty lightweight scope. IIRC they're available in the hunting scope equivalents too. Dot can be either red or green depending on the scope.

I have no complaints about the glass in mine.
