Awful lot still in the fields.
Stalk rot is a big problem from all the rain.
I'm worried the farmers are going to lose bigtime.

There are probably 200 acres I drove by coming home the back way today.
Between rain and wind, I have never seen standing corn look like this did.
Basically a stalk, with a hanging ear. The top is gone, no leaves, just a stick and ear.

Has it been this late at any time in the past? Happy for ya.

This is not late at all for us. A roller chain connector broke with less than an acres left of course.

A lot of our corn was down. Glad it's done now, time to go to work. laugh Doing something besides the corn.

Good luck with it! How is the corn yielding? In spite of going down, ours's was over 200 bushels.

Corn has been finished for some time, but there is still an unusual amount of beans still out. Rain had really played heck this fall.

Happy for you, Richard. There are still fields to be cleared around here. Even saw some beans being combined the other day.

A lot of crop still in the field here in the south of Iowa. Yields are all over the place, depending on whether it received moisture at the right time.

Lots of combines running yesterday. Today started with a little freezing rain which turned to snow, probably about 3" now.

Most of corn in my area is outer few fields left here and there. Also a few soybean fields still left, the soybeans I know are left mainly from guy who likes to quit early to hit the bars. Sad I see a fair amount of that. I don not farm ,I am an ag applicator for Nutrien Ag solutions. At let most of my fertilizer spreading is done, just wish we could have got more NH3 applied.

The end is in sight. Finished with the beans last Thursday just in time for the Wisconsin gun deer season opener.

Heading for the machine shed.

Oak, that header looks more like the first trip out for the year, no polish yet? I admire your courage taking a picture on the road. If folks I am meeting were smart, they would pull off, and pray.

Maybe I'm just looking a red paint, not rust. Most of what I run has little paint left!

Our beans were not as good as we hope for. The corn was down a lot, but the yield was good.

On my family's farm in N.C. Kansas, they still have some corn and most of the milo left to cut. Still quite a bit of corn in eastern Colo. standing too.

The deer are using it to great advantage in eastern Colorado. Probably the pheasants too.
