If you are in the vicinity of a Murdochs Ranch Supply they have a Black Friday sale on Federal Black Box 22 LR ammo - $39.99 for 1600 rounds.
A couple of years ago I would have bet that 22 ammo would never be that inexpensive again. Should be good enough for tin cans and grandkids.

Drover: Thank you for that heads up - I am writing myself a reminder and will have the VarmintWife pick me up a box of that ammo (I will be out Elk Huntin) on Friday.
Indeed it should be great for the VarmintGrandKids and others to plink around with!

I also agree with you on this - I had serious (extremely serious!) doubts that 22 rimfire ammo would be as abundant or as inexpensive as it has once again become.
I don't know why?

I can't help but keep thinking back about 3 years ago when $40 would have got you eight boxes of 50 each, if you could find any, now here is 32 boxes for $40. Who would have ever thought it.

It's being advertised in the Sunday newspaper flyer ads at area walk-in chain sporting goods and farm supply stores at that same price after rebate, too.
Federal has rebates on several other "Black Box" center fire caliber ammo, as well.

Finally, after not hearing anything from PSA since the day I purchased, I got a notice from UPS that the black pack 22 ammo will be delivered today. I was a little worried that they ran out before they shipped it.

I got mine today but wait until you try to do the rebate - it is a "designed to fail" rebate, they have so many hoops to jump through, some of them not explained well at all. I suspect that most rebates will be kicked back for not being done properly.
