In need of a blind box magazine for 1970’s 30-06 that is stamped K. If anybody has one or knows where one can be bought please let me know. I understand that it’s the same blind box mag that was in model 70’s post 64. I bent the lip and in trying to fix it I really bent it. It will not hold shells and I’m hoping to get a replacement. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks Ricky

I looked all last night but after placing this post I think I found one. Will update post if it’s not the right one when it comes in.

What's the difference between a box stamped "K" and "KR"?

Brad I have no idea. I found a k mag.

How do you keep the z spring attached to the follower plate attached to the magazine. When I feed the z spring up thru the bottom of the steel mag I can’t keep it compressed into the mag when installing into stock. It keeps pushing everything out the bottom of the steel magazine. Thanks ricky

To make the follower spring (z-spring as you describe it) work with a blind magazine you need what is known as a "Stock Floor Plate"... it's a "floor plate" for the inside of a blind magazine M70 stock. It holds the follower spring in place:

KR Magazine (670/Ranger):

Ranger/670 Cast Aluminum Blind Trigger Guard:

If you keep your eye out on ebay you can often snag this stuff for less, though the Ranger/670 Trigger Guards have really jumped cost-wise of late.

Probably more information than you want, but here's out it all works together as a unit:

Side-by-side comparison of a Stainless CRF feed magazine and PF 670/70A Blind Magazine... notice the angled-ear on the magazine block of the Stainless CRF model is pyramid-shaped, vs. the square shape of the PF magazine. To work with a CRF rifle, the squared lip will have to be modified to the shape of the CRF magazine lip:

Here's the cast M70 Blind Trigger Guard... the units are pretty rough and thick. I had my smith bead blast off the baked-on finish, then I spent a couple hours with various files and sandpapers working it down to a finer shape, simultaneously eliminating casting marks and voids. Now, though not necessary, it's ready to be re-bead blasted:
