That is nice.

Since the mid 1960's we have been using the Sierra 120 spt in our 6.5's.for deer. Made no difference if it was a 6,5x55, 264 mag or 6.5x06. They have all been mature muley bucks. As this year I took a mature muley buck easily over 200 lbs. About 185 yds. One shot from my 260 with the Sierra 120gr. He went down on the spot. Bullet placement is every thing. If some one looses a buck it's generally poor bullet placement .It doesn't take some special bonded or partitioned type of bullet to take deer.Just properly placed..

I've loaded 260 Rem ammo for deer using 120 grain Ballistic Tips, 129 grain Interlocks and 125 grain Partitions and they've all worked great.

My go-to in both of my .260s, is the 129IL. I backed it down a bit to 43.3 grains of Re 17 and get 2977 fps, with 1/2 moa accuracy to 300. It shoots better than I can out to 530.

Same here

My Rem 700 VTR really likes the 120gr Noslers. Can't get near the same accuracy with 140 gr bullets.

Anyone used 4451 or 4955 on 120gr bullets? I see some info on this thread for 4451 on 130s. Looking to push 120 ttsx out of a short barrel.

Plenty of data at Hogdon. I have not tried either of the Enduron powders but neither seems a bad choice.

https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center

I've used 414/760 H4350 and H4831SC with 120 NBT and 123 Scenar all have been extremely accurate. Please post your results.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

its close to deer season, less than 30 days here in Oregon...

so I'll muddy up the works for some.... and make a few dads happy looking for a light recoiling load.

22 grains of Blue Dot in a 260 with a 120 gr will yield 2400 fps or so.. depending on barrel length.

and with a 100 grain SP or B/Tip. 2600 fps, with a 22 inch barrel..., either one a 200 plus yard capable deer load.

works for short range needs around the property here....

260 is a great first and last rifle. I used internet 4759 for my boys starting loads. Light and quiet.

Loading for a throated 260 today, 3.095" OAL instead of 2.8".
The action is 1903 Turkish Mauser that was Made in Obendorf Germany 1903-1905.
It was converted from 7.65x53 Mauser to 7.92×57mm Mauser in the 1930s by the Turks.

Then converted by me in 2021 to 260 long.
To be tested in 2 weeks.

I think you will LOVE that 260 with a bit of room for bullets. I am happy with mine standard and 140 cup and cores. Folks who want to use any of the mono metals or higher BC 140 + weight bullets find they take up too much case capacity.

Mine loves the NAB LR 142 gr and H4831sc. I bought 1,000's of seconds when they were available.

Got bored with the 129SST and not having an exit, regardless of shot placement or distance (all killed quickly though) and switched to 100gr TTSX over 4064 at @3300fps. No more exit issues and kills just fine
