Ditto on the need for quality tonic or you're just wasting the gin. The wife pours supermarket brand diet tonic over her Nolets and it just drives me nuts. Where can one purchase good quality tonic? I have a hard enough time finding just plain ole tonic at all in the local grocery stores. Probably uncouth to the true connoisseurs, but I've used Fresca as a substitute for tonic in emergency situations and thought it was pretty damn good. But then I've substituted Tanqueray for Vodka in a Moscow Mule and thought it was an improvement, but that's an entirely different subject!

Hendrick's & tonic with sliced cucumber, all the way !
I drink others too, but it's my favourite.
The others, I prefer slices of lime.

1. Martin Miller's 2. Tanqueray 3. Beefeater
Short glass, lots of ice, no lime and just a splash of Canada Dry tonic water.

Plymouth. Gordon's if I'm savin' a few bucks.
New Amsterdam is worth a try for those that don't like the pine taste. I thought someone had slipped me an orange liqueur the first time I took a sip of Amsterdam.

Beefeater ... for a Martini or Gin & Tonic.
Don't know diddly about Tom Collins. Catchy name, though.

Fever tree for premade tonic - at liquor stores Jack Rudy's concentrate is better IMO but you may have to order from web.
Beef eater or Tanqueray . The latter being to juniper berries for some.
