Cart before the horse scenario and may have gotten ahead of myself.

Graf&sons has a sale on 150 gr. Scenar bullets so I purchased several hundred to try out. Should have looked for the specific load data first.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or does Laupa have this knowledge tucked away somewhere I could find?

This would be used in my T3x lite 7mm-08 with the 1:9.5" twist.

Thank you,
Eric

How similar is the Scenar to the ELDX?

I’d look to Big Game first.

Pharmseller -- Between the two it looks like eld-x has a higher b.c. and tipped. I have Big Game and IMR 4350 powder which are both listed in the Berger load data provided by HuntnShoot.

Thank you both. I think that is a reasonable starting place.

Be advised, my load is book max. Work up to it.

Yes, I am wise to the Pharmseller ways of 7mm-08 reloads---use them myself. I'll report back sometime in late January or February with my results.

I've got a 7-08 Tikka and it hasn't let me down yet for just about any bullet ! I'm using a faster powder in mine because I cut the barrel short ! However , Hunter was the best when the barrel was still 22 inch. Using tac now , haven't maxed out yet !

Canazes9 has used them with his 7mm08AI, maybe he’ll chime in. I know he’s killed stuff with em...

46.2 grns RL17 got me ~2800+ out of my Kimber 84m w/ 22" barrel (my rifle, work up, etc) - Quickload puts that at about 60k psi. I push them to 2900+ w/my 23" 7mm-08AI barrel, same rifle. Consistent accuracy is very easy with this bullet. It has been a really good hunting bullet as well. Seems tougher than some of the other VLD's I've used, always get impressive expansion w/ pass through pentration. Blood trails look like a spray paint can blew up.

This is the big mule deer I killed w/ my 7mm-08AI:

Have killed a handful of deer, about a dozen hogs with this bullet, always looks like this, never caught one.

Scenars typically have shorter ogives than high-BC bullets like the eld's and this holds true for the 150s. So the advantage is, if you can't seat an eld close to the lands due to mag box constraints, you very well may be able to reach the lands with a scenar of the same weight.
