Jeep Wrangler good deal? Found a 2005 golden eagle jeep wrangler with 25,000 miles on it. Garage kept new tires. Buyer is asking $20,900. Good deal or no

That’s kind of what I was thinking, but about a month ago a 2004 Rubicon with 30,000 miles Came on my radar and sold for $22,000 within a week of listing. I know I’ve got “jeep fever” right now I just don’t want to make a several thousand dollar mistake. Get in to big of a hurry if you know what I mean

Dave, there was a 2010 in Corsicana week before last. Had new tires, winch and all the other extras (two tops, all leather, etc) . Had 36,000 if I remember right. They were asking $23,000 and I felt that was high, so maybe I don't know squat. Figured it would sell to some rich guy, but that aint me.

Sounds about right for here in Colorado, but it seems all Wranglers are getting more than I think they are worth, even some clapped out old YJ's.

Boy isn’t that the truth, ive always thought of wranglers as overpriced crap but here in Colorado people sure got a hard on for them which drives their price way up.

I think that is high, but depending on options and any aftermarket modifications might not be WAAY high. I just ran the numbers through www.kbb.com and in my area for a basic 2005 with 25,000 miles and got $17,000. They do hold value well.

Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

This one has a little lift and bfg at tires. Otherwise it’s stock. I kinda think he is 1-3 k high and not real motivated to sell. But man oh man I figure I could get 10 years out of the thing and this cooler weather makes for nice top down driving

I've seen that Jeep, it's only a few blocks from my house. I had one that was the same color, just not a Golden Eagle version. Wish I still had it. I think it's priced a little high as well, he's hoping the cleanliness and low mileage will get more money. If that's the vintage you want and the inline-6, you'd be hard pressed to find another one with that clean and low miles though.

Jeep Wranglers sell above Blue Book. I recently sold my 1997 Wrangler Sport, decked out, with 37,000 miles, for $9k. I would have taken $8k but the first looker showed up with $9k cash. Who am I to argue? KBB trade in value was $7k..

I bought a 2005 Rubicon a few years back. It was a low mileage pavement queen. 6 speed and all the stuff.
It turned out to be the BIGGEST POS I've ever owned!!!!!!!!!!! Always waiting for something else to go wrong!!! The is plenty of info on the net to say the least. The only vehicle in my driveway that leaked oil.
Kept it two years and sold it for $500 less than I paid for it.
I looked the guy straight in the eye and told him they were total POS and he still bought it.
If you buy it find a good place to buy parts.
One last thing, Look up DEATH WABBLE on these POS!
When the tailgate drops the BS stops.

I've beat the chit out of some Jeeps, worn out.........and still no death wobble.
Worn steering stabilizer shock usually the culprit, or something else loose. Loose- usually the result of a half arse lift kit install.
Esp with the kids on Jeep forums...........so much BS. Avoid the forums. Its beyond ridiculous.
Kid I know did his XJ, got death wobble. Told him the fix. He didn't listen to me, instead listened to forums and other punks. Weeks of this and that.
Finally does what I told him and it goes away.
But then he and his crew took 1.5 days to install the front axle and couldn't get it. I drug my jack over and had it in less than 30 mins.

You will get death wobble if a ball joint is toast. Maybe a tie rod. Usually its the steering stabilizer. My stock ZJ got DW, and it was the steering stabilizer. I changed it to a heavy duty, and added a lift and big tires. Ran that turd for another 8 yrs. Got wobble again when a ball joint was super bad. Rusted out, 271K miles...........I yanked parts and scrapped it. Not worth fixing the ball joint.
Got a better one to lift now.

Keeps and Harleys are the two that hold their value very well. I ended up buying brand new because a bank would not loan what used jeeps were selling for.

That might be a little high but it is not out of line with what people are asking.
Just for perspective, I was pricing out a new 2018 JL Wrangler with the options I want ... $44K w/o any dealer markup. .. and they cant get it, they can only get the 4-door versions. Fooook thaaaaat.

Used Jeeps are weird.
Many local used dealers will have one on the lot. Sometimes for months. When it finally sells, They get another.
The margin on the things must be huge.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!
