I have two Leupold 3-9 scopes. Each is smaller than the regular 3-9 and has EFR (AO). The older one is badged Ultralight and the newer one which seems identical is badged as a rimfire scope.

I also bought a cheap Winchester 3-9AO from Academy for $29.95 and put it on a Remington 511. The combo is a ragged hole group maker at 25 yards. I bought the second mentioned Leupold to replace it, but why? The Leupold is still in the box.

Best,

Jack

I have the Vortex 2-7 rimfire on Henry 22 mag and it works great. I also have a SS 6X on an abolt 22 mag that I like more with the AO, but wouldn't give a kid a scope with the Christmas tree reticle like the SS. The Vortex is inexpensive and works well.

I would mount one of the Weaver rimfire model scopes.
